The Accident

Our client, a young driver from Crestview, Florida, was involved in a serious motor head on vehicle collision in Northwest Florida. Okaloosa County EMS transported our client from the scene for emergency medical treatment.

The Injuries

Our client sustained catastrophic injuries requiring emergency care, acute hospitalization, and an extensive course of specialized neurological rehabilitation. Our client was in medically indused coma for a few weeks. He received initial treatment at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Eglin AFB Hospital / 96th Medical Group. His recovery then required intensive inpatient rehabilitation at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and continued outpatient care at Shepherd Pathways in Decatur, Georgia — both facilities nationally recognized for the treatment of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.

Our firm secured the full policy limits from the at-fault driver's insurance, the vehicle owner's insurance and our client's underinsured motorists insurance. In addition, we negotiated and resolved a substantial medical lien asserted by the Department of the Air Force arising from care provided through the military health system, maximizing the net recovery available to our client. Attorney Coy H. Browning, supported by paralegal Marina Bodgros, handled the matter on behalf of the firm.
